What is the difference between Web 1.0 And Web 2.0?

The difference between Web 1.0 and Web 2.0 is that with Web 2.0 you use the Internet and communicate through it. The Web 1.0 was very straight. The Internet was seen for business. Webmaster's created websites and users visited and just viewed them. Communication was between Webmaster and client only. Webpages were static, when you needed any information the only thing you could do was to “Ask Jeeves” or “Yahoo”, now we can  “Google it”, “Bing it” or ask questions of other users in forums.

Web 2.0 sites allow users to interact with the site and Webmaster but also with other people who also access the site. Web 2.0 is about web applications that users can interact with and control. Nowadays anyone and everyone is creating their own webpages filled with content that they enjoy. Making webpages is now within the reach of people who have no programming knowledge. In Web 1.0 website creation was left to the “experts” to do. The use of the Internet went from being controlled by expert web masters to being driven by users. Users are now involved in creating their own Internet experience.

How has Web 2.0 changed the world?

Your computer, phone, or a tablet which means you are constantly socializing online. Web 2.0 services expand the pool of people we have the opportunity to meet to near limitless possibilities. We're no longer restricted to or rely on people in our neighborhood, church, or workplaces to provide the interaction we desire instead we just use online social networking. In the 19s not many people were overweight or had many health problems because people would have to make effort to communicate with someone by letters etc., but now in this new generation many people are completely dependent on elements that Web 2.0 cover.

People don't bother communicating in person anymore because they have these elements like twitter where they can just simply communicate with other people and because of this many health problems rise like people spoiling their eyes, people starting to go over weight which can lead to series of other problems like diabetes, and people are putting their own lives at risk.

Which elements of Web 2.0 suits your need as a student?

The elements of Web 2.0 that suit my needs, as student is a wiki and blog. These two elements suit my need as student because I used these elements for school homework so that I can share my information on different topics and so Im able to reflect on different subjects so I know what improvements I need in different subjects. I need the wiki so I can organize all the homework I have into the different pages of school subjects which makes things much easier for me. The wiki and blog also suit my needs because they both are easy to access. I need the blog because it gives the ability to share videos, pictures and Im able to share my experiences at school with people around the world. If I have trouble in any of my homework then I can just look for the information from kids my age all over the world and the good thing is that I can find the same kind of information from many different sources. The best thing about a blog is that you can comment on peoples blogs so when people comment on your blog you can take what they said into consideration and then try to improve your work, and when you see someone else's blog, you can help them out by commenting on theirs. .

Overall these elements mainly suit my needs as a student because they allow you to express what you learn in so many different ways.
