About me

My name is Uday. I love soccer because I have played it all my life, I like swimming because first of all it is healthy and it increases your stamina, I like Basketball because it is interesting and it is a team game and last of all I like dodge ball because it a agile game and it is very fun to play it. My favourite food is Chinese food and Thai food because it is really nice and I love it. I don't like to play cricket because I’m not very good at it and I don't like to play volleyball because I’m not good in it and it is very hard sport for me. In my family there are five people and I love them all, I, my brother and my sister play different sports together like Tennis, badminton and volleyball. As a family we have visited Switzerland and Paris which both are very beautiful place and we have visited many more other extrodnairy places and that’s all about me.

Peer Review

Marked Zahra's Blog. It was nice colorful and it had really good layout and good context. She met the criteria very well and did a great job and she got a 5 which is very good and she accomplished most of the requirements.

Strengths:She had customised her blog really well, she also put lots of effort in most of her work and she a quite a good grammar and her video is also very entertaining.

Weaknesses: She could say a liitle bit more about who she is because she didn't meet the requirements for that well and she could make it more detailed.

Improvements

Although she did a great job. She could do much better so I think her improvements should be that to put some more effort in her work because it didn't look very good, like the font could have been better and make it more nice, make it more detailed so the reader understands better and last of all reflect on what she does more often to see what she could improve.

Overall, I think her Blog is very good and nice and if she fixes her improvements it would be perfect.

Investigating different Software Options

HTML

HTML stands for hypertext marked language. The advantages with HTML are that you can do more. You can use color, images, and sizes to connect with your readers in more ways. It is easy to break up content, Can make links in a text clickable. The disadvantages of using HTML is that it hard to use and it take lots of time, Takes longer than text, Images are Often Blocked and you have to know certain codes to use html. I think this is a good option for describing digital portfolios because it connects with the reader more and makes the reader understand more and that’s what you need to do whenever your describing something.

Dreamweaver

Dreamweaver is an application that helps you design websites. The advantages are that it is approved by a large amount of people who make extensions available. Dreamweaver is available many languages so many people from different places can use it. It is available to the most popular computers like windows and Mac so then many people would know about it and use it. The disadvantages are that people who don’t have a Mac or Windows won’t be able to use it and there are many different people who use other types of computers. The older version of Dreamweaver only features one language and not others so it is hard for other people from different places to use.

FrontPage

FrontPage was a Microsoft program used to create and edit HTML documents. The advantages of using this is that what you see is trustable, a website design is easy to use with FrontPage. You do not have to learn html (or other web codes) The Disadvantages of using FrontPage is that you are depending on one source Microsoft to write HTML. You need a person that supports FrontPage extensions; or do not use things that depend on person who supports FrontPage extensions and the edition can be only used for Microsoft.

 

My Opinion on which software to use?

My opinion is to use Dreamweaver because it has better features and it available in many languages and it is supported from a large amount of people who make extensions and it looks simpler to use.

What is a Blog?

It is a Web site on which a person or a group of users record opinions, information, etc. on a regularly.

What is Wiki?

A wiki is a website which allows its users to add, edit, or delete what they created using web browser.

What is the difference between a Blog and a Wiki?

A blog is a personal space for discussing your point of view opinion. It could be regarded as analogous to working memory, where you toss ideas around and, if you're lucky, test them against your peers through a process of dialogue.

A wiki, on the other hand, is a collective space for sharing knowledge (or at least information). It could be analogous to long-term memory, where you store all those things that you've tested out and are happy with for now. A wiki is website for expressing your knowledge

What is an online Digital Portfolio?

A digital portfolio is a place to keep evidence of an individual’s growth or development over the years. It is organized collection of artifacts and reflection that shows the users expansion in knowledge and skills over the time and its content completely depends on the purpose it is used for.

What are the three important features of a digital portfolio?

It is durable which means it lasts long and is secured, allows team work so different people can work together and it allows student and teacher interaction, that’s good because if the student needs help he/she has teacher to help.

One advantage and one disadvantage of a digital portfolio.

Disadvantage: A portfolio needs constant updating to include the most current projects and this makes it very time consuming.

Advantage:  It is online so people can share ideas and work together and if someone is stuck there will be many people to seek help from.

Color: This online digital portfolio is my favourite because it has different color shades and the colors are really bold. The color is also useful because they make it easier to see the text and it is easy to differentiate what part is what.

 Headings: The headings of this online digital portfolio are very bold and are easy see. It is big and has nice bright color to it.

Organization of images and Texts:  As you can see the online digital portfolio is split into half. The upper half has images and few big bold words and the bottom half is only text therefore it easy for the person to understand the digital portfolio and it is easy to find things in the digital portfolio plus he also put the upper half a different color and the bottom half a different color so you tell where is the text and images.

Web design: The web design of this online digital portfolio is very unique; I think it would attract people to see it how he made some of the images tilted and how he used a good combination of colors and how on top of the portfolio he made it look like stars and he mixed different images together.

Content: The content is very good it describes a lot about him and is very detailed and everything on that portfolio completely relates to him.

Weaknesses: This online digital portfolio I think could be improved by firstly some of the words on the upper half are very hard to see because of the color and he could have added a little bit more creativity and that’s all I think needs to Improve.
